One of the wooden single-pane six-panel windows had a broken lock on it, but the community probably has a zero-crime statistical rating, though I noticed a local establishment was offering a conceal-and-carry class. The door to my room did not have a chain on it, but I was able to secure the storm door from the inside of my room, making feel a little more secure.

The room I leased was "farm-y," with lots of wood paneling and a thin carpet over a concrete slab, with a microwave, refrigerator, and flat panel tv. All the appliances worked well, except the heater. The heater was a gas (or kerosene?) wall unit that put out a lot of heat, but emitted a strong odor of fumes (?). I activated the heater for about 10 minutes; but I had to turn it off, for the fumes were too strong; and it alarmed me of a possible carbon monoxide leak. (Maybe, I was a little "too" alarmed, for this motel had obviously existed long before I discovered it; and surely a carbon monoxide leak would have been detected BEFORE I tried to use it? Nevertheless, the fumes were too strong.)

The bathroom was very clean; and the water was hot. The towels very very soft.

BEST PRICE ! VERY NICE PEOPLE. EVERY OTHER HOTEL IN A 60 MILE RADIA WAS RUDD. AND EXPENSIVE WITH BAD REVIEW. LUCKY ENOUGH WE FIND THIS ONE ON THE GPS. I WANTED TO BE THE 1ST ONE TO LIVE ONE

By the way, before I reserved a room, I did not get an answer to the phone listed on this listing. So I drove over to the motel to check it out. And, on the door of the establishment, it stated that the owner was away, but would be back at a certain time....and there was another (cell) number that I could call to speak to the owner. He answered that cell phone number the first time....and he showed up in fifteen minutes to show me a room. He was a nice gentleman, easy to talk to, with a sense of humor, etc....and I wish that more proprietors were like him.

All the rooms are non-smoking, free of other offensive odors, etc. And, the room that I leased was clean....very clean.

With the thin walls and the noise of my neighbors, I had no other option but to sleep on the much-softer, padded full-sized bed, which had a rut in the middle; and I woke up with a sore back and a headache. I did not sleep well.

The town itself was very small, with one country-style grocery store in it, which happened to be closed the two days I was in town. Evidently, it is normally Open every day of the week; but it just so happened that I visited on the day of the funeral of the owner's son; and the following day was Easter, when it was Closed. There was a gas station that had the normal gas station food, including hamburgers....but the hamburger that I purchased was nothing to get excited about (Just a "normal" frozen-patty burger.) And, there was another restaurant in town, open that Saturday, at least, called Greezy Steve's that did not appeal to me.

At any rate, again, it was a small town....and it would have been a good place to stay "to get away from it all," without distractions....and I might have recommended it to anyone else to stay here, if it weren't for that fumy gas-type wall unit and the way-too-soft full-sized bed....and the thin walls.

The owners were very kind & the room was at a good price.

The motel has a motor lodge layout, with a drive-up, park-in-front-of-your-room, schematic.

The room also had a clean solid-wood desk in it; but there was no outlet on that wall of the desk. The wi-fi worked well, with no lags or drops.

The room had two beds -- a full-size and a twin. Both had foam mattresses, about 14 inches thick....and the full-size was a pillow-top foam mattress....which was way too soft for my preference. The twin, on the other hand, was quite firm. I wanted, and tried to use the firmer twin bed. However, it was located in a nook of the room, and the tv and conversation of my neighbors disturbed my sleep. (They were not "loud" by any normal standards; but the walls were very thin; and I could hear just about everything they were saying and what was on their tv. When my other neighbor closed his front door, it shook and rattled my bed. As for noise, there was also a train that came through town, about a quarter mile from the motel, about once every two hours, with its horn blaring.)
